Do you know Madeline? If you knew Tom and Jerry, The Powerpuff Girls, Scooby-doo, Little Lulu, Johnny Bravo- among the many famous cartoon characters from Cartoon Network, you must have also known Madeline! Yes, the redhead orphan girl, the smallest of the girls but the bravest and most outgoing.
I remembered her when just recently, I have been stabbed on my back (not literally). Someone told rumors about me and I got depressed. I was like, "Hey, how could you judge me as if you knew me that well."
I grew sickly when I was in high-school. In fact, I graduated two years delayed. And I finished it away from my hometown, the city where I grew up because it just pains me when I see my classmates on their college life already while I'm still all stuck up in high-school. I could have made it if I were just that brave to handle the pressures I have encountered that time because my instructors were really willing to help me cope up. But, my emotions could not just handle it all up. Something happened. I knew something did happen. And my classmates knew that. Few understood, but there were also who were narrow-minded and the worse thing there, they chose to spread gossips and rumors about me, even you could never imagine people could do that to you. I really did not expect a school mate from that school, a known prestigious school in the region ,could do such thing to me. As if, he knew me that well. I don't even know him!
Years had already gone by and with my strong faith plus the love that I constantly receive from my family and true friends, I was able to face the world again. It has been awhile since kept silent about myself but now, I already have the courage to speak. To laugh again, to live, to party, to live the life God has given me!
After having my feelings posted on facebook, a teacher from high-school who knew me and knows me still sent me her advice and it healed me. I realized that there are few real ones who really love me and yes, they inspire me a lot. I was then back in tune and felt relieved. Why should I get affected with those rumors? I have been to pressures, downfalls and all those pitfalls. I stood up. And I know, I will be standing still as I go along my journey.
Just like Madeline, I may be very small, but inside I'm tall! I'm Dyan.. I'm Dyan.. I'm Dyan.. I AM DYAN.. and inside, I'm great!!
